HEAR HIM: Vision Sunday 2.0 (Take the Mountain With You)

HEAR HIM – TAKE THE MOUNTAIN WITH YOU (VISION SUNDAY 2.0) – DYLAN JAHNIG

Scriptures:
Matthew 17:1-8 (NIV)
Isaiah 2:3 (NIV)
2 Peter 1:16-21 (NIV)
Rom 3:20-23 (NIV)
Mark 9: 1-21 (NIV)

Points:
1. BE LESS DISTRACTED BY THE MESS + MORE DEVOTED TO THE MOUNTAIN
2. TAKE THE MOUNTAIN WITH YOU

What do we do if we can’t hear Him?
We go a little higher.

“HEAR HIM,” is not just a phrase; it is a divine calling for each one of us to prioritise listening and responding to God’s voice in our lives. Jesus didn’t take his followers up the mountain, He took His friends. How can we cultivate a deeper friendship with God in our daily lives?

The practical invitation of HEAR HIM is to:

1. BE LESS DISTRACTED BY THE MESS + MORE DEVOTED TO THE MOUNTAIN

Better than trying to ‘manage’ busyness, is pursuing purpose.

Better than being frustrated by the demands of the day, is being intentional about the decisions you make.

2.TAKE THE MOUNTAIN WITH YOU

(Don’t miss the mountain lessons)
– Sundays
– Solitude
– Sensitivity to the Spirit of God
– Serving
– Small Groups
– Sowing

Mark 9 – Down below was the spirit of evil at work, up high the Spirit of the Living GOD, and when the Devil encounters God – He leaves.

You can’t confront the works of the devil, unless you are full of the Presence of God.
Jesus is the fullness of God – we are on a journey toward this.

“As small as a mustard seed” (means they had none) – they were operating in flesh, Jesus had been up the mountain, and Peter, James and John were full of FAITH. because they, had heard the voice of God.

“Faith comes by hearing…”

Flesh vs. Faith – you cannot operate in flesh and expect the results of faith.

Galatians 5 – “Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.”

2024 DECLARATION:

This year, we will lean into His voice like never before.

As a community of faith, in the name of JESUS and by His grace. We will hold our ears close to His heart.
We will listen for the whisper, the stirring, the still small voice, the WORD.

We choose now, today, every day – to believe that what He has to say is more important than anything that this world offers.

More important than our next meeting, our next post, our next paycheque, our next conversation.
More important than our daily grind and more important than our biggest dreams. We choose to HEAR HIM.

We declare that we would be known as a people who love His word, walk in His ways, and whose faith, hope and love are contagious to this WORLD.

We declare that we will stand firm in the valleys and on the mountain tops – sure of our identity that comes
from the voice of Heaven.

We declare a year of great humility and unprecedented favour.

We declare a year of great growth and even greater grace.

We declare that by His word, the valleys would be raised up, and the mountains would be made low.

We declare that what lies before us as His people is far greater than anything we leave behind and far more beautiful than anything we could ever imagine.

We declare that by His voice, a generational blessing will be released, and even greater anointing will flow through the family of God.

We declare that peace will rule and reign in our hearts.

And so we say, “Our hearts are open, God, our spirits alive and expectant for you to move like never before.

SPEAK LORD – WE’RE LISTENING.
SAY THE WORD AND THAT WILL BE ENOUGH.
