UP: COME UP HERE – TES JAHNIG
Scriptures:
Revelation 3: 21-22
Revelation 4: 1-2
Hebrews 4:16
Hebrews 12:1-3
Points:
1. A DOOR
2. A VOICE
3. A THRONE
“To the victorious one, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne. Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” Revelation 3:21-22
To those who are victorious, He gives them the RIGHT to be seated on the throne with HIM.
“After these things, I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, “Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this.” Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne set in heaven, and One sat on the throne.” Revelation 4: 1-2
THIS BOOK is a supernatural revealing of the risen victorious JESUS to the church (“The Revelation of Jesus Christ”) – It’s all about HIM. We spend too much time focusing on apocalyptic nature of this prophecy and far too little energy gaining understanding around THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST.
- A DOOR
This is not a physical door – it’s a doorway, an opening to heaven. It’s an invitation to put on new lenses and frame life from the Father’s point of view, to live with a vision of Heaven – the lens that shapes and clears up the way we see Earth.
This is not a door of opportunity, promotion, or overcoming – this is an open door of HEAVEN. An invitation to have communion with our God.
THE DOOR IS OPEN.
When Jesus was baptised, HEAVENS OPENED.
At the transfiguration: the voice speaks, but it doesn’t mention that the heavens are open. Why? THEY WERE ALREADY OPEN.We live in the day of AN OPEN HEAVEN- where His voice speaks without barrier to His children on earth.
- 2. A VOICE
THE WORDS THAT COME FROM THIS OPEN DOOR ARE: “COME UP HERE“.
We’re being given an invitation to SEE. An invitation to acquire VISION. A beckoning to LOOK NOT FROM OUR LIMITED WORLD VIEW, NOT OUR LIMITING BELIEFS, NOT OUR MINDSETS, BUT from the perspective of the Father.
We must ascend to higher ground so that when we look at our lives, when we look at our losses, when we make decisions about our children, when we struggle through our marriages, when we fuss through financial discomfort, when fear of the future grips us – WE SEE from a higher perspective and act from that point.
Where is this HIGH PLACE? Where is UP HERE? Where is the mountain that Christ calls us to ascend? Where should we position ourselves to experience the higher ground and fullness of life picture that Jesus calls us towards?
SACRED SUNDAYS, MOMENTS OF SOLITUDE WITH HIM, SMALL GROUP COMMUNITY: Position yourself in the higher ground so that you will continuously hear HIS VOICE over the CROWD.
- 3. A THRONE
When John looks through the door of heaven, he sees a throne.
We live in an age where there are two very dominating world views:
1. HUMANISM – I AM GOD – I am seated on the throne; I rule and reign. I am the highest order of authority.
2. ATHEISM – THERE IS NO GOD. THERE IS NO THRONE. There is no higher power to rule over us.
But John is invited to look into heaven, and he sees that there is a throne, and it is not empty. Someone sits on this heavenly throne. This image puts us in context and silences the noise of humanistic and atheistic thinking and opinion. THE THRONE IS THE CENTREPIECE OF THE PICTURE AND ON THAT THRONE IS THE FATHER, AND SEATED AT HIS RIGHT HAND IS JESUS. It is the ultimate picture of authority and power. And we are invited to sit WITH HIM in this place of authority and power.
Why is this important? Because when you know what you have UNLIMITED ACCESS TO, you will ACT DIFFERENTLY.
Children in a home do not ask permission to open the fridge. If they’re hungry, they eat. They take what they need. Are we not children in the Kingdom of God? Has the Father not given Jesus ALL AUTHORITY? Didn’t Jesus delegate that authority to you and me? Hebrews 4:16
JESUS GIVES US THE AUTHORITY TO EXERCISE DOMINION OVER EVERYTHING OTHER THAN HIM.
If you are born of the Spirit of God, if you are filled with the Spirit of God, if you have been given the Word of God: YOU HAVE EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO LIVE AND CARRY OUT YOUR SPIRITUAL AUTHORITY HERE ON EARTH.
AUTHORITY IS ABOUT KNOWING YOUR POSITION – When you know your position, you can move with an authority that isn’t part of this world order and system.
To take charge of the powers, principalities, authorities, and darkness. To resist the devil Himself. To heal the sick. To inspire hope. To bear a witness and testimony of Jesus. To overcome. To flee from evil. To turn from sin. To break chains and release those in bondage.
JESUS IS OUR VICTORY, AND HE SITS NEXT TO OUR FATHER IN HEAVEN; THROUGH HIS POWER, HE DEFEATED DEATH AND WAS GIVEN ALL AUTHORITY AND THEN GAVE IT TO US.
WE HAVE AN OPEN DOOR OVER OUR LIVES.
WE HAVE THE VOICE OF THE FATHER IN OUR EARS.
WE ARE SEATED WITH HIM ON THE THRONE OF HEAVEN.
WE HAVE VICTORY.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, Thank you for revealing truth from your Word. As we navigate this year, help us embrace the open door to heavenly perspectives and ascend to higher ground. We acknowledge the authority of your throne and the unlimited power given through Jesus. Grant us wisdom to apply these truths practically, resisting the enemy’s schemes and confidently living in the victory of Christ. May our lives reflect the authority you’ve granted us, inspiring hope and bringing healing. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
