What happens when we stop trying to be strong enough – and start trusting the One who is?

There are moments in life that define us – not because they go the way we planned, but because they didn’t. A moment where you lost control. A moment where things didn’t go as expected. A moment when your strength ran out.

We’ve all been there.

And yet, those very moments can become sacred spaces. Spaces where heaven draws near. Spaces where we discover the strength and help of a God who is not absent, not indifferent – but intimately present.

This is what it means to be a People of Promise.

The Power of New

God is always doing something new.
Maybe you’re standing in a new season today- a new relationship, a new job, a new church, or even a new level of trust. Or maybe you’re in unfamiliar territory because something broke, something shifted, something got taken away.

Here’s the good news: New doesn’t mean unstable.
New means God is near.

In Isaiah 43, God says:
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” (Isaiah 43:18–19 NIV)

A God Who Keeps His Promises

We’re reminded of a staggering truth:
There are more than 7,600 promises God has made to humanity in Scripture.
Of those, over 6,400 have already come to pass.

Why does this matter? Because it tells us something simple and profound:
God keeps His word.

When God speaks, it’s not empty.
When God promises, it’s not hypothetical.
When God moves, it’s not for show – it’s for transformation.

“So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire…” — Isaiah 55:11

If you’ve ever wondered whether you can trust Him again – the answer is yes. Not because it’s easy. But because He’s proven Himself again and again.

Strength Isn’t Found in Self

God’s strength shows up when ours runs out.

Sometimes we try to muscle through life. We bowl without bumpers. We put up our “I’ve got this” face. We don’t want to be seen as weak. We don’t want to ask for help. We resist surrender because somewhere along the way, we confused it with failure.

But what if surrender is the strongest move you can make?

What if weakness is not the end – but the entry point for God’s power?

“That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses… For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
— 2 Corinthians 12:10

Four Keys for Living in the Atmosphere of a Limitless Future

So how do we live like this? With faith, not fear. With trust, not control. With hope, not striving?

Here are four keys:

1. God Will Uphold You

“I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)
You may feel like you’re falling, like you’re on the edge, but God is not distracted. His eyes are locked on you. You’re not overlooked. You’re held.

2. Daily Surrender

Surrender isn’t giving up. It’s giving over.
Every day, surrender your fears, your control, your timelines, your identity.
Surrender is where breakthrough begins.

3. Daily Trust

When you can’t trace God’s hand, trust His word.
Because of every promise He’s made, the overwhelming majority have already come to pass. And the ones that haven’t? They’re on the way.

4. Daily Renewal

You can’t run today’s race on yesterday’s strength.
God has a fresh wind for you. A fresh word. A fresh grace.
“Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles.” (Isaiah 40:31)

Will You Trust Him Again?

Maybe something has shaken you off course. Maybe you’ve been hurt, disappointed, overwhelmed, or just exhausted from trying to do it all.

This isn’t the end of your story.
It’s an invitation to trust again. To hope again.
To step into an atmosphere where your future isn’t defined by your limitations – but by His limitless grace.

So here’s the question to carry with you:
What do I need to surrender today in order to step into the future God has for me tomorrow?

Because when we surrender, we don’t lose control – we finally hand it to the One who always had it.

And in His hands, the future is not only secure.

It’s limitless.

Discussion Questions

  1. “Faith got us here – and faith will take us there.” What does this statement stir in you personally? Where have you seen faith carry you in the past, and where is it now calling you forward?
  2. Out of the 7,600+ promises in Scripture, over 6,400 have already been fulfilled. How does this shape the way you view God’s trustworthiness in your current season?
  3. The message challenged the idea that surrender is weakness. What area of your life feels hardest to surrender right now – and what might God be inviting you to release?
  4. Have you ever found yourself pretending to be stronger than you actually are? What did that moment teach you about God’s strength versus your own?
  5. “When you can’t trace God’s hand, you can trust His Word.” Can you share a time when God felt distant – but His Word sustained you?
  6. Daily trust and daily renewal were two of the keys shared. What rhythms or practices help you renew your trust in God each day?
  7. The story of the little girl dancing after the accident was a picture of childlike trust. What would it look like for you to live with that kind of trust right now?
  8. “Limitless living begins where control ends.” What are you currently holding onto that might be limiting your ability to live in the fullness of God’s promise?
  9. The question was asked, “Will you trust Him again?” If you’re honest, where has trust been broken in your life – and how might God be redeeming it?
  10. Of the four keys shared (God will uphold you, Daily Surrender, Daily Trust, Daily Renewal), which one do you feel God is highlighting most in your life right now – and why?

Activation:

  • Faith: You don’t have to be strong enough – you just have to surrender. God’s strength is made perfect in your weakness. When you stop striving and start trusting, you step into the atmosphere of a limitless future.
    • This Week:Each morning, pause and pray: “God, I give up control and trust Your strength today.” Let His Word be the anchor when your strength feels like it’s not enough.
  • Family: Life will shake you – but you don’t have to walk through it alone. The local church is a covering, a community, a place where healing begins. Don’t isolate when things get hard – lean in.
    • This Week: Reach out to someone in your spiritual family and simply ask, “How can I stand with you this week?” Be the arms of strength someone else needs.
  • Future: Control feels safe, but surrender makes space for God to move. The future God has in mind isn’t small, safe, or scripted – it’s spacious. When you let go, you rise higher than you imagined.
    • This Week: Reflect on this question: “What am I trying to control that God is asking me to release?” Then say out loud: “I trust You with the outcome.” That’s where the future begins.
