“What if wonder lives where we never think to look?”

Day 1: Simply Come
Matthew 11:28–30 (NIV)
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Reflection:
Jesus doesn’t say, “Clean yourself up and come.” He says, “Come as you are.” In a world that celebrates hustle, Jesus offers rest. Like a weaned child in its mother’s arms (Psalm 131), we’re invited to let go of striving and find peace in His presence. The grace of God doesn’t wait for us to be perfect—it meets us in our weariness. We are justified not by effort, but by faith in the finished work of Christ (Romans 5:1–2). Today, God’s invitation is simple: stop trying to earn what’s already been given. Simply come.
Prayer:
Jesus, thank You that I don’t have to earn Your love. Help me to stop striving and start resting. Teach my soul to be still in Your presence today.
Activation:
- Faith: Write down the areas of your life where you feel like you have to “perform” for God. Next to each one, write: “I am already loved here.”
- Family: Create a quiet moment—maybe bedtime or mealtime—to say together: “We can rest today because Jesus carries us.”
- Future: Instead of rushing into planning today, pause and ask: “What would leading from rest look like for my future?” Note one step of obedience rather than one more task.
Day 2: Faith Over Control
Proverbs 3:5–6 (NIV)
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Reflection:
Children don’t need to know the map—they just need to know they’re being held. Faith doesn’t mean we understand everything; it means we trust the One who does. Control is often fear in disguise. But grace loosens our grip and reminds us: we don’t have to be in charge to be secure. Today, let go of the illusion that your future depends on your understanding. Trust the Shepherd. He leads well.
Prayer:
Father, I surrender the need to control what’s ahead. Help me trust Your voice over my fear. Lead me, and I will follow.
Activation:
- Faith: What areas of your life are you holding onto too tightly? Write them down. Now, say aloud: “God, I trust You with this.”
- Family: Invite your family into a pause today. Ask together: “What would trusting God look like here?”
- Future: Write a prayer of surrender over your future dreams and goals. End it by declaring: “My future is safe in Your hands, God.”
Day 3: When Doubt Knocks
John 20:27–29 (NIV)
“Then he said to Thomas, ‘Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.’ Thomas said to him, ‘My Lord and my God!’”
Reflection:
Thomas doubted, but Jesus didn’t reject him—He drew near. God isn’t threatened by your questions. Faith isn’t the absence of doubt—it’s choosing to look at Jesus even when you don’t have all the answers. Today, grace meets you right where your uncertainty lives.
Prayer:
Jesus, thank You that You meet me in my questions. Help me keep walking toward You, even when I don’t understand everything.
Activation:
- Faith: Write down a doubt or question you’ve carried silently. Now pray: “Lord, meet me here.”
- Family: Be honest about faith questions at the dinner table or during a quiet moment. Show that wonder and curiosity are welcome in your home.
- Future: Make space in your journaling or planning for questions as well as goals. Ask: “God, what are You showing me as I trust You with the unknown?”
Day 4: Trust Beyond Mistrust
Romans 8:15 (NIV)
“The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, ‘Abba, Father.’”
Reflection:
Pain can plant mistrust, but the Father is not like those who failed you. The gospel isn’t about earning a place—it’s about receiving adoption. God calls you son, daughter. His embrace is healing; His mercy restores what was broken.
Prayer:
Abba, Father, heal the places in me that struggle to trust. Teach me to rest in Your love.
Activation:
- Faith: Identify one area where mistrust has kept you distant from God. Speak this over it: “God, I choose to believe You are good here.”
- Family: Share a story with your family of how God has proven Himself trustworthy. Invite them to share too.
- Future: Ask God to redefine your vision with His love. Write: “Father, shape my future with Your mercy, not my fear.”
Day 5: Living Light
Matthew 6:33–34 (NIV)
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
Reflection:
Children don’t carry the weight of tomorrow—they trust someone else is looking after it. God invites you into that kind of joyful dependence. His providence means you are seen, known, and cared for. Let go of what He hasn’t asked you to carry.
Prayer:
Lord, teach me to live light today. Help me trade anxiety for trust and fear for faith.
Activation:
- Faith: Write a list of your worries. Next to each one, write: “God knows. God cares. God provides.”
- Family: In a moment of worry today, pause as a family and say: “God is God. We are not. We trust Him.”
- Future: Ask God for one area where you can simplify or slow down so your future pace reflects trust, not anxiety.
Day 6: Wonder Again
Psalm 8:3–4 (NIV)
“When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?”
Reflection:
Children see what adults overlook. Wonder isn’t childish—it’s Kingdom. Awe keeps your heart soft, your worship fresh, and your eyes open to God’s nearness. Today, slow down. Let your heart marvel at who God is.
Prayer:
Father, awaken wonder in me. Help me see You in the ordinary and praise You with childlike joy.
Activation:
- Faith: Go outside or pause where you are and name three small things that remind you of God’s wonder. Praise Him for each.
- Family: Create a wonder moment—watch the sunset, look at the stars, or marvel at creation together.
- Future: Ask God to give you fresh vision that is birthed in wonder, not worry. Write: “God, help me dream with wide-eyed faith.”
Day 7: Come As You Are
John 1:12 (NIV)
“Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.”
Reflection:
Jesus doesn’t ask for polish or perfection. He asks for your heart. Childlike faith is about nearness, not naivety. You’re invited to come as you are—not striving, but surrendering. You are His child. That’s your starting place, your safe place, and your future.
Prayer:
Thank You, God, that I am Yours. Help me live as Your child today—trusting, resting, and following You.
Activation:
- Faith: Write down this declaration and say it aloud: “I am God’s child. That is enough.”
- Family: Bless your family today by speaking: “We belong to God, and we walk as His beloved.”
- Future: As you look ahead, declare over your plans: “I go forward as a child of God, not as a servant proving myself.”
