3. WELCOME HOME
When we look at His word, we find out how to do life.
When we look at His heart, we find Life itself.
Hebrews 12:2 NIV Says: “looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith” – so part of understanding his heart for humanity is having another look at TRUTH from the very beginning:
1. BY HIS HANDS
’You weren’t just Produced from the land, you were Created By His hands for Him, and In HIS image.
In Genesis 2:7 God formed from the dust, a man, and breathed in him the breath of LIFE! And the man became a living being. To rule, reign, and to be an example of a high priest to all of creation. To reflect God to creation, and to reflect back to God His own glory.
We were created on purpose, for a purpose.
We were then placed in a garden called EDEN. The woman was deceived by the snake because she had not yet received her name. When you don’t know who you are, that leaves a gap, and it is that gap that is used by the enemy to deceive and distract humanity into deception.
Adam and Eve’s names in Hebrew mean “Human-Life”.
God redeems all things and uses all things for His glory. He’s the one who restores identity to all of humanity and gives them LIFE!
2. REDEEMED BY GRACE | JEWS & GENTILES
Paul explains to us in the Book of Romans that the Gospel was first to the jews and then to the gentiles (Romans 1:16).
In the OT the Jews had a means of accessing the Lord, Because Israel is God’s special possession! God’s firstborn which we see in Exodus 4:22 “Then you shall say to Pharaoh, ‘Thus says the Lord: “Israel is My son, My firstborn.”
Whereas the Gentiles were not able to enter His presence. They had neither the law, nor the covenants, nor the prophets to guide them. A people lost without hope. Like sheep without a shepherd.
Gentiles were far off, and it was the Father’s heart to see them, you and me, saved.
Ephesians 2:11-12 NIV Says: “Therefore, remember that formerly you who are Gentiles by birth and called “uncircumcised” by those who call themselves “the circumcision” (which is done in the body by human hands)—12 remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenshipin Israel and foreignersto the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world.”
Ephesians 2:13-17 – one new humanity
Romans 11:11-15,25
There is abundant blessing for humanity waiting to be unlocked.
There are miracles waiting for the church and its people. There is a Father in Heaven waiting to release anointing, favor, and immense blessing over his sons and daughters. And it all relies on the eyes of the jewish nation to be opened by the Gospel through the gentiles.
3. WELCOME HOME
Luke 15 – the Prodigal Son
Galatians 3:28 NIV Says: “So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”
Question: What does it look like to live out our redemption as Gentiles? How does this practically outwork in our lives?
